Collaboration

CollaborationAt ext.IT we believe that it’s far more important to collaborate and partner with our customers throughout a project than it is to sign off on requirements at the beginning of a project. Signing off on a requirements contract at the start of the project guarantees that the wrong thing will be built on all but the most trivial of projects. We recognize that requirements change and new requirements are uncovered during the course of a project and if we don’t take this into account, then we will not meet your needs.

On every project we communicate with our customers: we engage in a constant dialogue throughout a project. This allows for the real requirements to be uncovered and the right software to be built. We believe that iterative and incremental approaches to development make it far more likely that the features you need will be built on time and on budget. This also means that gold plating and unnecessary features can be easily cut from scope, so that you spend your money on the features that matter to your business.

We use Assembla as a collaboration tool to work with our customers.  This allows our team and our customers access to many collaboration tools, allowing us to easily and securely share code, requirements and tasks across the whole project team.

  • Wiki features allow documentation to be worked on in real time by the team.
  • Ticketing and the Agile Planner feature allow for requirements to be captured, prioritized and estimated. In addition, actual time used and remaining time on the project can be tracked with complete visibility to the project team.
  • Support feature allows us to support our customers with defect tracking and enhancement requests after go live.
  • Secure online source code repositories allow us to collaborate globally within our team and with our customers, wherever they may reside.
  • Our methodology space allows us to share best practices with our customers

Best of all, we provide these collaboration features for free to our customers.
